Eagle Festival Date: October 5-6, 2019
admin Oct 02, 2019The Mongolian Eagle Hunters Association has reportedly said that the 20th anniversary of the Eagle Festival, one of the major tourism events of Mongolia, will take place on 5-6th of October for in a place called “Sayat Hill”, Bugat soum, Bayan-Ulgii province.
The eagle hunters will compete on how well their eagle is conditioned to its master and trained in hunting. Moreover, more contests such as money snatching /Tyengye ilu in Kazakh/, skin bag capturing /Kyekpar/, woman chasing /Kiz khuar/, and “Uriankhai” ethnic group archery will be held during the festival. Not to mention, last year, 120 eagle hunters from 13 soums of the province competed in the festival and more than 2,000 foreign and domestic tourists came to watch the festival.

- Registering the eagle hunters /at “Sayat Hill”/ - 09-10 am
- The opening ceremony of the festival /at “Sayat Hill”/ - 10-11 am
- Competition on how well the eagle is conditioned to its master. Competition on clothing, eagle, and horse equipment of the eagle hunters who passed the first stage of the competition – 11:00 am
- Break time – 01-02 pm
- Resumption of the competition – 02-03 pm
- Camel racing – 03 pm
- Archery contest – 03-04 pm
