1.“NOVOTEL” AND THE WARM FEELINGS

Rating: 5-star

Established date: 2018

Rooms: 192

Location: Sukhbaatar district

When we entered the "Novotel Ulaanbaatar" hotel, an environment just as comfortable as we’re at home welcomed us. The hall and rooms were carpeted with “Atilla” collection by the “Erdenet Carpet” Co.Ltd have cast a warm feeling upon us. In general, we thought that the carpets are essential for creating a theme in an environment. The carpets, in addition to enhancing the surroundings, are designed to keep the environment warm and reduce the noise. It is also worthwhile to mention the friendly behavior of the employees. If I were to define the “Novotel” hotel, it would be “warm”. The hotel is a branch of the “Akkor” chain hotel with over 4,200 branches across the globe and it was opened in the capital of Mongolia a year ago.

The concept that only foreigners stay in a hotel has already left behind. As for the “Holiday Inn” hotel, they’re individualized for breaking this concept. It’s because international and nationwide major events are regularly held here. And this fact alone can break the concept it’s only for tourists. The main entrance hall was settled with an eco-green color. Green walls, green lights, green chairs, and green carpets… everything is all green here as if we’re in wild nature. So let’s call the “Holiday Inn” hotel “Green Environment”. 4. “PREMIUM” AND THE CALMNESS

Rating: 4-star

Established date: 2015

Rooms: 70

Location: Chingeltei district

A calm and peaceful environment is dominant here. The carpets from the “Huns” collection by the “Erdenet Carpet” Co.Ltd seem to be decorating the floor. I’ve read from an interior-design magazine that the world-renowned hotels use mostly intermediate-colored carpets such as beige and gray. The “Premium” hotel has decorated their rooms with the carpets that meet the world standards. The furniture inside the rooms is unique due to the fact they were made of 100% eco-materials. On top of that, the color of the furniture matches the color of the carpet is the best thing since sliced bread. Historical monuments in Ulaanbaatar city, the “Gandantegchenlin” monastery, the modern view of the city, and business centers can be seen through the windows in the rooms. Let’s define the “Premium” hotel as the “Calmness”.

5. “СASTELLA” AND THE MINIMALISM

Rating: 3-star

Established date: 2015

Rooms: 31

Location: Bayangol district

The “Castella” hotel is situated in a high-elevation area, the western 4-way intersection, at the heart of the city. What really caught my eyes in a hotel mostly dominated by the Minimalism was the Huns-styled carpet with a Mongolian traditional pattern rolled out on the floor. Even the chairs and couch inside the room are small in size. Minimalism is all about preferring fewer and the most simplistic furniture over the furniture that is large in size and space. In my opinion, the hotel room is more ideal for customers who prefer order. We emphasize that the “Castella” is a hotel of Minimalism.
