WINTER TRIP

Overview

Discover the highlights of Mongolia and its wonderful winter landscape. Breathtaking landscapes and the warm hospitality of the nomads will remain unforgettable. The journey begins with a natural spectacle: We go on a road trip to a place, near the capital, of an alpine landscape. After that, we have a whole day to hike over the sacred mountain "Bog Khan Uul" and enjoy its spectacular view over the capital. On the following day, we see the Przewalski's horse in "Khustai" National Park.

Itinerary

Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, it's recommended that you clear customs and check-in to your hotel. After settling in your hotel room, you are at leisure for the rest of the day. You may need some time to relax and recover your long flight. In the afternoon, you will be picked up by our guide and start a walking-tour at "Sukhbaatar" square, the central point of Ulaanbaatar. Here, the monument of Genghis Khan and the Parliament Building lies. In the afternoon, we watch a Mongolian traditional show at Tumen Ekh: folkloric dances, contortion, and of course the Mongolian throat singing "Khuumii". (Accommodation: Hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.)
The destination of the day is the national park "Terelj" which is located 50 km away from the capital in the north-east. The park is famous among rock climbers and has a magnificent alpine landscape and rock formations, which includes a famous rock formation called Turtle Rock (Melkhii Khad) due to the shape it resembles. Then we visit one of the 'must go' attraction in the park, the monastery "Aryabal". (Accommodation: Ger camp Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.)
After breakfast, we drive to a sacred mountain "Bogd Khan Uul". It takes about 2 hours to get there and then we begin our hiking in the mountain. Lastly, we visit the monastery "Manzushir", which was constructed in 1733 and consists of 20 monasteries. Thereafter, we drive back to the city. (Accommodation: Hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.)
Our destination of today is a place where the wild horse "Takhi" inhabits, the National Park "Khustai". Khustain Nuruu National park, also known as Khustai National Park, is a large conservation area in Tuv province, Central Mongolia. We start the day with breakfast and drive to the Khustai National Park. We soon reach the park and leave our car in the parking lot to begin our 3 hours hiking over the hills. Of all the parks, Khustai is known for its population of Przewalski's horse or Takhi in Mongolian. After lunch in Ger-camp, we drive a bit into the national park. These critically endangered horses were expelled again in 1992. About 15 horses were brought over. At present, there are over 400 horses in the National Park. (Accommodation: Ger-camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.)

Today, we head back to the capital. In the afternoon, you may need some time to relax and recover from the trip.

Finally, we have a last dinner together. (Accommodation: Hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.)

You will be at leisure in your hotel and you may stroll around on your own until our guide escorts you to Chinggis Khaan International Airport for your departure flight. Your driver will assist you with flight check-in and luggage, and see you off at the point of security check. (Breakfast)
